I do not understand why the Mets traded Ryan Church for Jeff Francoeur. Do I think it's a bad trade...no...but I think it has the potential to be really bad...if Church kills the Mets in divisional play. I do think that Ryan Church is a solid player. I don't know what the Mets are getting (good or bad) in Francoeur...he certainly won't be hitting many homeruns at Citi Field.
Trades and recruits and free agent signings are best judged after their time in uniform is up. I'll withhold judgment until later.
