Another win...and the CFL

Brittany Tegeler's team won 2-1 again in the W-League playoffs. Don't know who scored yet because the box score isn't up yet. Somehow it wouldn't shock me if she contributed. We'll have to see.

I also watched some CFL today. I saw a guy with the last name of Labbe from the Winnipeg team. Of course I wondered if he was related to the other Labbe that I know more about.

I think the CFL is cool. It's a different game from the NFL. I think teams only have 3 downs. Teams were punting on 3rd and 6, although some NFL teams, like the Bears, would have been just as good punting on 3rd down instead of 4th down. There looked to be a good amount of fans for the CFL game. Also the CFL allows recievers to be moving forward before the snap so long as they don't cross the line of scrimmage before the snap. All in all I think I could watch the CFL.

Who is my favorite CFL team?

The Montreal Alouettes. Why? tons of reasons

Most importantly Larry Taylor plays on Montreal. What UConn fan doesn't love Larry Taylor?

Secondly, Montreal is a nice place. I have fond memories of being able to buy seats 5 rows behind homeplate and get to see my Mets. One year I happened to stay at the same hotel as the Mets so I ended up running into players all the time. My mom was in the elevator with Jae Weong Seo and I met Tom Glavine too. He was nice and easy to talk to. Al Leiter and John Franco were quieter.

Thirdly it has Alou in it and who doesn't like baseball and the Alou's? Moises, Felipe etc.

Fourthly, I had no idea so many UConn athletes came from Quebec until I got to UConn.
