So you know I love two-sport athletes...
Were not talking about Intramural Water Polo and Intramural Soccer either.
There were 4 athletes that participated in two sports last year at Storrs. They were: Dominique Thibault, Ashley O'Brien, Ellis Gaulden and yes of course Meghan Cunningham. I believe Cunningham will be the only one of those 4 returning next year.
Softball Coach Karen Mullins played two sports at UConn too. She played Basketball and Softball. Mullins averaged more points as a freshman than the freshman averages of Renee Montgomery, Kalana Greene and Tahirah Williams combined.
Anyway, at a Division II school I know of a three-sport athlete named Colleen Dunleavy. Don't know the years and can't quite remember the sports...I want to say they were Volleyball, Basketball and Softball.
Anyway playing 3 varsity sports is just impressive. However, I do think it's a little easier to do that at a Division II level than a Division I level. By no means is it easy to play 3 varsisty sports at any level, but I do think it's much easier at a smaller school, than at a Division I school with lots of highly successful coaches and more demanding programs.
