I like what the NFL is doing with the draft

The NFL announced that it will make the NFL Draft a three day event, starting on a Thursday night with just the first round. Rounds 2 and 3 would be on Friday night and 4-7 on Saturday. I like this a lot better because I'd rather watch it on a Thursday night than on a nice spring Saturday. That spring Saturday is usually reserved for baseball or softball.

Oh and yes I do watch the NFL draft. It's the most entertaining draft to watch. (note to non fanatic sports fans...don't watch a draft for entertainment...unless you LOVE and are OBSESSED with sports don't waste your time sitting on a couch watching picks....I'm closer to the obsessed side which you can probably tell) To me this is entertainment because the Cowboys and Patriots usually make trades and the Jets and Raiders do something that make you laugh.

I will admit to watching the draft...I've even tuned in to see some of the 6th round, including the 2007 draft when I saw the Cowboys move up in the 6th round to select Deon Anderson, the full back from UConn. I did go crazy when that happened by the way...because again I predicted that would happen. I swear I said it would. I just thought he'd look good in a Cowboys uniform when I watched him play at UConn in 2006. The Cowboys haven't had a great fullback since Daryl "Moose" Johnston (excluding Richie Anderson). Robert Thomas and Lousaka Polite were just a couple of the no name full backs since Moose.

To be honest though, almost all fullbacks are no-name now. Especially since Mike Alstott retired. Maybe you've heard of Lorenzo Neal...

Anyway you might think I'm weird for tuning in for part of the 6th round...which I admit to doing (It makes sitting in the rain to watch track look normal for me)...however my high school's football coach one-upped me.

Coach Jones said he watched all 7 rounds of the draft and had his daughter sitting on his lap for a good part of it.

His wife must be REALLY COOL.
