Really I love Citi Field. Mets fans were booing by the second inning. The first hit in the stadium in the regular season was a home run by Jody Gerut...of the opposing team. He also scored the first run.
So far I'm glad we spent $800 million on it. On top of that it looks there is a better chance of Rey Ordonez hitting a homerun in April than Barry Bonds against a batting practice pitch. So it looks like no one will hit a homerun there.
To make things better a cat ran on to the field.
Maybe Bobby Valentine will show up in the dugout with a mustache on. That would be funny.
To be fair Tom Seaver did throw a strike for the ceremonial first pitch. You almost never see that. Like he threw it from the mound to Piazza as catcher. That was pretty good.
But The Mets have managed to record 1 run in 3 innings against a 32 year old rookie. Great!
