If the UConn Women's basketball team wins the National Championship they need to thank one person and one person only. Not god, not Geno (even though some times I confuse him for god [Sometimes I confuse Meghan Cunningham and her amazingness for God too {I wonder how many brackets I can use in one blog entry}]) They need to thank Softball first baseman Justyne Roy. Before UConn beat Stanford on Sunday in the final four, she hit a homerun. That was a good Omen and UConn went on to win. Today, before the Championship game vs Louisville, Justyne Roy drove in the game tying run with an RBI double and scored the game winning run. That is a good omen. I believe that Justyne Roy should be the MVP of the 2009 NCAA Women's Final Four if UConn goes on to win tonight.
I'm sure Softball Coach Karen Mullin's is on Justyne Roy's side. Coach Mullins averaged more points as a freshman at UConn playing basketball then the freshman averages of seniors Renee Montgomery, Kalana Greene and Tahirah Williams combined.
