It's unfortunate

I must say I don't remember reading anything about UConn Men's Soccer in 2007 in my local, southwestern CT newspaper. I think that's unfortunate. Not only was UConn one of the top 5 teams all year. They also had the countries leading goal scorer and MAC Hermann award winner O'Brian White. Josh Ford was also having a school record setting year in goalkeeping categories and the roster was full of 4 MLS draft picks.

I would hope that all the Connecticut newspapers and news outlets would do a story on our state school teams (any university of college in the state...at all divisions...) when they are having so much success.

Our state doesn't have much of a professional presence. (except for the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA) Our college teams are what should be bringing us pride as a state. Not the Boston teams or the New York teams winning...the Connecticut teams winning is what we should be most proud of.

I know Southern Connecticut won the Division II Women's Basketball championship in 2007.

In the fall of that year UConn beat them in an exhibition game by 61...

Trinity had success in baseball and I think also in squash. I believe Yale has done well in rowing.

As for men's division I soccer, Stamford even has a UConn branch campus in it. I just don't remember a story done on the 2007 soccer team. If there was please let me know! I wish one would have been done.
