But don't read into it too much

I know I have written a lot about UConn summer league players and their accomplishments. Doing well in summer leagues is always a positive thing.

However, not having a lot of accomplishments is not a bad thing because it's impossible to read into statistics and win-loss records. Sports are a team game, and while someone may succeed at UConn, it's possible that they won't succeed with their summer league team because of any number of differences. An athlete might be used differently by coaches, the coaches might run different plays, the surrounding team may be different etc. I would caution people never to read too much into summer league play because it's completely different from the college season.

I do believe that success breeds success, so doing well in a summer league is always a GOOD thing, but I don't believe that not scoring or winning means you need to panic because there are so many differences between summer teams and college teams.

  1. OH IO

We're back from a family reunion and talked up UCONN's Women Soccer. Our families of combined Michiganders and Ohio-ans promised full support of their UCONN niece and began making plans to head down/over to DePaul & Notre Dame in the fall.

Eventually razzing between the two states started up. I decided to check to see if a quiet OH would get an answer. Yup, got a loud response and then absolute silence, reactions of shock and finally, sworn fidelity for UCONN from those of OHIO..,
