My final game

So the final game that I saw at UConn was a great won, a 14-6 victory over Pitt. Game was over when we had a 9 run second inning.

Mike Olt was back in the line-up and was playing at 3rd base. Nick Ahmed was at short.

Mike Nemeth hit 3rd on Saturday. Pierre LePage was back at leadoff and Harold Brantley Jr. was DH and hitting 9th.

George Springer got nailed by pitches in his first two at bats. He took a couple for the team. Teams would be stupid to hit or walk Springer...he's so fast on the bases. If he gets on he could be on third with a steal and advance on bunt/ground ball...but then again if you throw strikes he could also hit a homerun... Glad I'm not pitching. Both seem like pretty bad options. Glad he's on UConn.

Peter Fatse proved that he is a player and that he does crush ALOT. I'm stealing this line from a baseball video game but "I wonder what movie they showed on that flight." Holy Crap did he get ALL of a pitch. I mean ALL of it. Apparently he called it too. Which is even more impressive. As I saw this ball in the air I just watched it. It was so pretty to watch. For a second I thought it might land in Morrone. It ended up by the back of the parking fence. That's easily the longest home run that I have ever seen at UConn.

I saw Doug Elliot before the game and wished him good luck...He barely missed hitting a homerun. It hit off of the yellow top of the wall in center field for a double.

Michael Zaccardo is my new favorite athlete. We agree on something very fundamental in life. It involves a certain school...that's all I can say. Zaccardo is pitcher and transfer from the University of Florida. He is a Greenwich native, which is the town over from mine. It's also where I worked last summer. Let's just say that jobs at investment banks aren't there any more.

Dan Mahoney also impressed me because he was able to get out of a jam that wasn't entirely his doing. I like seeing that. Sometimes when an error happens in the field a pitcher can't seem to regain focus. Mahoney did and UConn got out of a jam. Mahoney also has the best "pop" in the catchers glove out of any UConn pitcher.

Mahoney, and Hockey Players Josh Bernard and Brian Maguire all went to Cushing Academy for High School. Cushing Academy happens to be in Ashburnham, Ma which happens to be where I am now, at my Lake House.
