I am surprised to find out that Kristine Lilly still plays soccer. She plays in the WPS for the Boston Breakers. I swear that she came into my elementary school gym class at least 10 years ago. By that time she was already well accomplished with at-least a gold medal. She is about to turn 38 and she is still playing and still is difference maker in the small amount of time that I've seen her play. She also just had a baby...a year ago and is playing professionally.
I guess I have to be a fan Lilly because of her connections to my area. Plus she decided to visit my gym class. She's from Wilton, which is where my Uncle lives. She's probably one of the top athletes ever to come from my area. It's unfortunate that she probably doesn't have that much name recognition compared to other athletes from my area. Hopefully you will recognize her name from now on. I have to have some Fairfield County pride.
I decided to check in on the WPS game on Fox Soccer Channel...Why not? It's a learning experience. I have some ideas and impressions but you won't get to hear about those unless you're in a sports management class of mine.
A player...I think named Kelly Smith went down and got such a bad Strawberry from sliding on the turf...Wow that must hurt.
