Ok so I read about how the Yankees are protesting their loss yesterday because Boston reliever Manny Delcarman got extra time to warm up because they claim Josh Beckett was taken out even though he wasn't injured.
Of ALL things to protest this is not one of them. This is by far one of the dumbest reasons I've heard for a protest. Extra Warm Up time has little or no effect on the outcome of the game. The Red Sox won because they scored 6 runs in the last two innings, not because their reliever through too many warm up pitches. This is poor sportsmanship.
BTW, one thing I never said about the game of delays which was more than 10 days ago was that on top of rain delays their were too many pitching changes including two for injured pitchers. As if the game hadn't been long enough already two pitchers came in after the rain delay and got about 5 minutes or more to each warm up. It was awful.
