So tomorrow is my first day working with the Boston Breakers. Should be fun, should also be a long day, which is ok. I will not be writing anything tomorrow. Atleast I doubt that I will write anything tomorrow.
One thing that I think is crucial is for people to keep bumping into each other and to make an effort to see how they are doing. Yesterday I went to Franklin Pierce and just stopped by and briefly saw the Athletic Director, baseball coach, director of compliance, and sports information people. I thought it was important just to pop in and remind them that I am alive and well.
I would always visit my teachers during office hours, probably too much. But again it's better to see them more often then too little.
I think when I was 7 or 8 I talked football with a Raiders fan named CB who worked at our old family business. Even though no one in my family has anything to do with the business anymore I always make a point to stop by the shop and see CB whenever I am in Stamford for a few days.
I'd always stop by and say good bye to Patti B before I left for the year. Same goes for pretty much everyone else in athletics. They probably see me too much, but again it's better than never. Just walking around and seeing people has definitely helped me get my foot in the door.
