So today I said that I wanted to learn how to be able to take our boat out for myself so I can have others water ski.

My dad said no, you need to learn how to wax, clean, etc. He said that there was more to a boat than just using it.

I asked him if he got the boat so I could learn how to wax and clean.

He didn't say no.

I think I'd want to learn how to wax and clean the boat if I enjoyed using it first. Then I'd want to use it, and by wanting to use it I'd have to maintain it.

I'd rather use the boat and maintain the boat so I can use the boat again rather than to maintain the boat so we can maintain the boat and have fun if we are lucky.
