I know I am not the only person who has been chased by an unleashed dog while cycling or running. It can be sort of scary...and it's happened to me twice in a week. Once while running, the other when I was cycling.
Please leash your dogs...for everyone who exercises, it's just a smart thing to do. You never know what will happen if your dog is loose...especially if you have a pit bull or rottweiler.
Today was the scarier of the two days as I was chased by a pit bull while I was cycling up a hill. It chased after me for longer than I wanted. A Pit Bull running after you is never fun...but I guess it does make for great uphill training.
So please leash your dogs for everyone's safety.
Secondly, I do cycle a lot...In my life I've probably cycled the mileage of atleast Hawaii and back if not further. (I read an average pro cyclist rides the mileage of around the world once a year) I often go 40 mph down hills on rides. Anyway I do follow the Tour De France casually.
I think its amazing to bike over 100's of miles a day, day after day like they do on the tour. I don't particularly enjoy watching people ride their bikes four hours though. I'll flip through the channels and watch 10-15 minutes of it. I don't find it fun to watch for a while. It's something that I'd rather do than watch.
