I love cycling and I actually got around to watching part of a stage. Here is what I remember.
I believe the stage went from Filet Mignon to Croissant.
The next one was from Croissant to Pinot Grigio. From there it was on to Cote de Centre pas ill de Busque. The final two stops would be to Champagne and Tawny Porto.
Every time I listen to the names of the places the cyclists are going I think of that cheap restaurant in town that tries to be a five star place by changing hot dog to Dogge' De Hotte with Catsup a la carte on the menu.
I also am shocked by nothing I see fans doing.
When watching I saw these things:
Sheep by the road
Three guys dressed like borat with that green one piece thing.
Vikings made an appearance (Brett Favre joined them when they got to the top of the hill)
Someone dressed in a drink bottle.
A Women in a bikini.
Someone dressed as Lance Armstrong.
They all seem to be running up hill clueless to the fact that they look crazy and ARE GETTING IN EVERYONE'S WAY. Those people who dress up are the people I wish went running with the Bulls.
The thing I hate about this is that sometimes people think that this is normal, or that it is what cyclists want when they are going on a ride. During the Tour people tend to act dumber when I ride at home. They start honking their horns at me. Then you have people shouting at me "go faster." It's awful. Here I am biking in the beautiful country and I have to listen to that. I like it when it's peaceful and I hear the wind whizzing past my ears and the birds chirping in the background.
Thankfully I have yet to have experienced people dressed as Borat running next to me while cycling. To take precautionary measures I have decided to make sure my cycling isn't too predictable so I go at different times and on different routes.
