Ok also Gun Range with 4 year old son and 6 year old daughter, What could go wrong?
A lot.
Today was July 4th, happy birthday America. It's also National Drunk Firework Shooting day.
My lake is small so it doesn't have a fireworks spectacular. It instead has very good, sporadic fireworks. This year they went on across the lake at several different homes for about 90 minutes.
The fireworks were entertaining, but the competition between one house and another was even better.
There was a lot of gendered language, a lot of "stop being ladies, or old ladies" etc. There were a few curse words and a few references to the men on the other side of the lake lacking certain body parts. It was quite entertaining to listen too.
"Your little fire over there looks really cute"
"There is nothing illegal about having a fire"
"I can't see your fireworks"
Those were the more appropriate remarks. There were some memorable ones but they are not suitable to be written about.
Fireworks at our place should have a rating of NC-17.
A competition to see who can set off better fireworks is fun, especially if you get to watch and not worry about your arm ever being blown off.
The guy who was yelling and hollering and bragging about his fireworks was clearly drunk, or atleast I hope so, because if he acts like that all the time he'd be really hard to sit down and have dinner with.
Being the beneficiary of watching someone else with fireworks and alcohol is a lot of fun for us. It's something we will look forward to every year and hopefully the competition heats up more and more each year until one day people pay no attention to the Boston Pops and instead try to buy tickets to watch from our yard.
