So I had much more success cross country skiing this morning on the frozen lake. I got up at 7:30 ate breakfast and than bundled up for a quick early morning adventure. I was able to get into a rhythm so I looked like I sort of knew what I was doing. It was probably 10 degrees with some 40 mile an hour gusts out of the north. My fingers quickly got cold.
(Even though I am allergic to the cold, as long as I am moving around I am ok)
I did stop earlier than I was planning to because I got to a part on the lake where my ski poles broke the ice and uncovered some slush. The ice was supposed to be 6 inches thick, enough to drive cars on, but I didn't trust this spot. Today it will freeze even more, but unfortunately I won't be around after about noon today.
All in all it was a good experience. I thought I made some good progress, and I thought that I was actually moving today. It was fun and I look forward to going again.
