So yes yes I saw Meghan Cunningham running today and I of course couldn't help but point her out so everyone around me knew that she is a two-sport athlete who works hard, has no life and doesn't get enough attention for her efforts.
BTW seeing Meghan running today was poetic. And I mean this...I just think it's poetic for an athlete to be running by themselves with no one noticing their hard work. That's what champions do...they work hard...and then they get noticed. It's refreshing in many ways. She does what she does because she loves what she's doing. How can a sports fan not appreciate that?
Back to where I was going with this.
There was a kid there who was like "oh I know Meghan she lives the floor above me. Did you know there is like this website about her? It talks about how amazing she is."
I said No....we never spoke again...if he reads this he'll know that I lied...
I hope people notice Meghan but truthfully people should also realize that she never ever ever would have been written about had she not showed up to Ryan Grace's intramural game and given him support. Seriously, that's how it all started.
So I'm famous for writing about Meghan Cunningham......great......Atleast they can put something on my gravestone when I die.
But seriously I hope to be known for more in life than that.....and I hope that she doesn't think I'm too weird (to a certain extent everyone is weird) because I talk about her all the time...I just really think what she's doing is remarkable, and as a sports fan, and sports management major I'm fascinated by what motivates her, how she trains, how she was socialized into sports etc...I also hope Meghan is known by more sports fans than just me. God knows she does more in a day then you and I do in a month combined. She deserves a lot of credit for it.
