Lacrosse

I love the lacrosse team. I ended my spring break early to work the Lacrosse game vs. Syracuse. I am really glad I did. It was a great game. As most people know UConn is in it's first season with a new head coach and was going against powerhouse Syracuse. We lost to Syracuse 24-4 last year and both UConn and Syracuse were virtually the same teams player wise from last year. UConn's M.E. Lapham scored first in the game but things seemingly went downhill from there. Syracuse looked as if they were going to dominate and they jumped out to a 6-1 lead. However UConn came back and scored 3 goals in a row to make it a game before half-time. It only continued to get more exciting as UConn scored two more goals after half-time to tie the game at 6. Syracuse scored and than M.E. Scored her 4th of 5 goals to tie the game at 7 again with less than 20 minutes left...against one of the best teams in the country. UConn ended up losing 13-8 but they played extremely well and made the game very exciting. With performances like that I expect that lacrosse will get over the hump very soon.

After the game I was invited to the team tailgate by my friend Meghan Nanfeldt. It was really appreciated since I was back on campus and most of the places with food on campus were closed. After some games the team has a tailgate for the players and their families. The families bring food and cook on the grill. I thought that was pretty cool.
