So I was doing some reading and stumbled across this eye popping peice of information.
When North Carolina won the Women's Soccer National Championship in 2000 they won in the final with a walk on at left back, a freshman at right back starting her first game in the NCAA, a transfer who had never started in the tournament before at center back. The defensive mid-fielder was shared by a freshman and by a player who was recovering from her 5th ACL tear.
Talk about overcoming problems.
