My favorite part of working with a team itself and working in college athletics is seeing the student-athletes succeed, both as people and on the field and in whatever they pursue. It's by far my favorite thing. If they say they want to be an All-American than I sure as hell want them to become one and would support them however I could.
It's hard to explain how happy I would be for them when they reach their goals.
I get so excited and happy when I read about a player scoring a game winning goal with 20 seconds left. I'll just do a Tiger Woods first pump when I read about it. I enjoy seeing our players score goals, the pure joy and sometimes dancing, or awkward dancing of first career goals.
Moments like those are the reason coaches like to coach and teachers like to teach. They enjoy and get a lot out of seeing others succeed.
It's those seconds of success that make the hours and hours of training, work, administrative work etc. all worthwhile.
