Two All-Americans

Both Melissa Gonzalez and Loren Sherer were named First-Team All-American's for their performances this year. Sherer set a new record at UCONN for single season goals at 33, and points at 84. She lead the nation in scoring.

I always announced her name, and her name was hard to say so her scoring gave me a lot of practice. I can say it easily now, and I apologize for messing it up. I practiced it wrong and it carried over into the first game or two. I practiced saying her last name forever though. I'd literally go for a run and then just start announcing her name because I wanted to get it right as soon as possible. I need to practice it correctly to make up for what I did wrong before I got her pronounciations.

Sherer was fun to watch. She is an amazing player. I remember her scoring a ridiculous goal. It's a goal that I can't describe. I just remember thinking to myself that only she could have done that.

Anyway I wish more people say Sherer play. It's not often that your school has a National Scoring Leader playing. I look forward to seeing her honored this year in front of a large crowd.
