My aunt and uncle sent me a message from their grandchildren, Caden, Keaton, Will and Morgen when they first came to visit the lake house. The kids were wondering where I was. Caden especially wanted to know where I have been. I spent about 5 days with them in April of 2008 when I was reporting on the Women's Basketball Final Four and I taught Keaton how to play basketball (which is apparently his favorite sport now ) and I played football with Caden even though he completely lacked the concept of passing.
Honestly my favorite part of the experience reporting on women's basketball in 2007-08 was the traveling. I got to go home to Stamford for the first round of the NCAA tournament, which was held in Bridgeport. (I actually got really sick after the first game of the tournament, but was better in time for the 2nd game.) Then I got to fly to North Carolina to spend time with my Aunt. My Uncle from Florida actually came up to visit too, so I saw him. I also met a sports management teacher from Elon, Hal Walker, who has been a huge help to me. Then I went to Tampa and spent time with My Aunt and Uncle, cousins and my cousins children. Tampa was much more than I ever could have dreamed because I stayed on the water at my cousins house, went boating, swimming and saw an IRL race while remembering that all my friends were in Storrs.
According to my Aunt and Uncle I am needed in Tampa. I guess I better figure out how to help a UConn team bound for Tampa ever year. I am happy to do about anything if it means getting a free trip to Florida...or Hawaii. (I'd say New Hampshire too...but I've biked and ran there from my Lake House...it's not hard for me to get to)
