Another visit to Storrs

I got a phone call from my dad who can't drive because of his knee injury to see if I could pick him up if my mom brought him to Storrs....the half way point between my home in Stamford, CT and Lake House in upstate Massachusetts...on the border with New Hampshire.

I agreed, especially since it was 57 and raining. I'm sure he appreciated it. I enjoyed being able to visit Storrs...when it's nice out. No rain, no wind in between Gampel, and the School of Business. Just the sun. It was great. It's the weather I wish I always had when I was at college. It sucks that it's cold for so much of the year. You don't want to go outside and when you do you are in a hurry. When it's 10 out you don't stop and say hello to your friends around campus, you wave and run for warmth.

I stopped by briefly. I saw one athlete. One athlete and that would be Jacquie Fernandes.

Here is a link to the quotable Fernandes...didn't know this existed.

I picked up a copy of the 2009 National Championship Game on DVD too.

I also stopped at the Dairy Bar to pick up a Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake. I usually get one or two a year.

The Dairy Bar is great because they promote to teams with posters in the Dairy Bar. They have a Field Hockey poster from 2007, the Field Hockey program has 2 National Championships. They also had a 2008 Women's Soccer poster up. Women's Soccer has been to 8 final fours.

Thought those teams would be happy to know that they are being promoted...especially during the summer when a lot of people visit the Dairy Bar...campus was packed today with youth athletes.

Also the North garage is not open. I would think that it would be open in the fall. It has to be unless we want riots to break out.
