So I was just talking to Madeline Northrup...and we were discussing the Steeplechase and how she saw "my hero" today. She meant Meghan Cunningham. I asked her if she would have noticed Meghan Cunningham with out my inability to not talk about her. She did say that she probably would not have noticed Meghan Cunningham without me talking about her all the time in my blog. I want people to notice Meghan Cunningham...and if it means that I have to compare her to God or Amazingness then I will. Not many people Play Women's Soccer, run indoor track, outdoor track and then play amateur women's soccer...year round...She is constantly competing, constantly training and not enough people notice that.
Some people think it's weird, it's madness that I write about her so much...what's madness is that more people can spot a walk-on...or unimportant basketball player than Meghan Cunningham...Meghan Cunningham won more games this season for UConn than Jonathan Mandeldove did...and until Meghan Cunningham is as noticed as he is my job is not done. It's mind boggling to me that someone could do so much...and get so little attention for it. My Method for giving her attention might be unconventional...but it works...because you remember her name and remember to pay attention to her.
Some people think I talk about her too much...I'm just making up for the fact that no one else at UConn does (Except her teammates and close friends) There is something inherently wrong with that. More people should notice her walking in the student union than the walk-on's for basketball combined. While those walk-ons and Mandeldove do a lot for UConn...they do not do more than Meghan Cunningham...Meghan Cunningham has done much more than most athletes at UConn.
