I need a hoodie

One of my favorite things about UConn athletes are those free hoodies they get. A lot of people don't know why they get them and why so many athletes walk around with their hoodies up inside or in class, or when the weather is fine and you don't normally need the hoodie up. However UConn athletes aren't your average person. Having a hoodie and having it up is a necessity. You have no idea when the paparazzi will show up to South Dining Hall on a Sunday Afternoon or at 8am on a Tuesday Morning in the Business School. When you are as famous as a UConn athlete you will understand. Athletes need those hoodies to make sure that they aren't photographed with their ex or with a new fling or get caught having a bad hair day because they know that it will be published in the tabloids for everyone to see.

But what concerns me is that I don't get a free hoodie. As a member of the T-Shirt launch squad and poster give-away team my privacy is of prime concern. I am exposed to more people at a basketball or football games than most UConn athletes are in their entire careers. Considering that people will die for T-Shirts and posters I think it's vital to the interests of the police and my privacy that I get a free hoodie for me to wear and constantly have covering my head so that my life is safe and so that my privacy is maintained.

To explain this a little more, I find it sad, funny and pathetic that as a member of the T-Shirt launch squad that some people recognize me around campus. Some people recognize me more than some All Big-East athletes in smaller sports and that's pathetic. I try to tell all of the stories behind the kids with the hoodies up...

FYI- it was crazy handing out posters after the Seton Hall Women's game. It was insane. People were pushing and shoving to get a poster. Everyone was supposed to get one, but for most people that wasn't enough. They tried to take 5 or 10 or 40. Adults even pushed kids out of the way to get life size posters. (Imagine what they'd do if it was a Meghan Cunningham and Ryan Grace poster) One person even tried to take off someone's watch to get a poster. People go crazier for posters and T-Shirts than free money.
