Friday Stuff

So I went to baseball after I went on a nice run on a gorgeous day. I stayed for the first 3 innings and that was fine. I saw the only two runs of the game and they were both scored by UConn. We beat South Florida 2-0. Freshman George Springer hit an absolute bomb over the center field fence in the 3rd inning. I was going to leave after the second inning but I wanted to see Springer's at bat...I made a good decision. John Folino was sensational on the mound. 7.2 innings and gave up only 3 hits and 3 walks.

Of course I was just so happy about UCONN LACROSSE. All week I had been saying that they were going to win. I gave Meghan Nanfeldt a hug after the heart-breaker that was the Brown game. I told her they were going to win on Thursday when I saw her. I saw Katy Ryan on Tuesday and I gave her a hug and whispered in her ear, win by 3 on Friday. They won by 2, but I'll take it. It felt so good for Lacrosse to win. They struggled last year and are now under a new coaching staff. After the game against Brown the team looked so deflated and I felt so bad. They made me depressed. But I did know that being depressed would be no good, that is why I went out of my way to tell everyone that Lacrosse was going to win on Friday. I mean everyone especially the players. The more they hear that they are going to win the more likely it will happen. I knew we were going to win. We had too. We had been playing too well for too long not to pick up a win. After the win on Friday against Cincinnati the team got a chance to celebrate. Meghan threw up her stick and the team celebrated on the field. It was the first win for Angela McMahon at UConn....first win of many I might add. I promised Meghan that I wouldn't shave as a good luck thing for the team. She'll let me know when I can shave next. Kiersten Tupper lead the team with 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) M.E. Lapham scored 4 times and Whitney Michele scored 3 times.
