So many polls closed

Ok so somehow Women's Soccer did really well. I hope they won because they really had two terrific games, the one vs Yale with Cory Bildstein's kick heard around campus and their game vs WVU where Steph Labbe really showed why she was Big East Goalie of the Year and an Olympian.

I'm glad Bildstein's game won because it really sticks out in my mind. I hope that won on its merits and not because women's soccer loves to google themselves.

Football played a tremendous game vs Virginia and absolutely destroyed a team that I thought would play us close and tough.

Men's soccer had some great games too. The Notre Dame was missed my many because of a time change that interfered with the homecoming football game.

As for best freshman athlete, I had go with Caroline because she was making a huge impact. I should have added Tiffany Hayes to that poll because she is so good too. Annie Luhrsen was next after Caroline to me, followed by Jordan Todman. I think all of the people listed in that poll and Tiffany Hayes will have bright futures at UConn. I am surprised that Melissa Busque and Tony Cascio did as well as Kemba Walker. I think Kemba is pretty good too. I know nothing about soccer and can't really evaluate talent well, but I love watching Melissa Busque play. She always seems to be getting after it and in the middle of so many things. Tony Cascio played well in the NCAA tournament. He will be VERY important next year.

The most underrated athlete interested me. Kalana Greene pulled that one out which makes me happy. I thought she was so underrated last year and Geno thought that word was really applicable to her contributions when I talked to him last year. Craig Austrie is also so underrated. He's a calming influence on the team. The team plays better when he's in. It doesn't really show up in stats but it shows up when you watch them play. The offensive line gets no love either. Without them Donald Brown would still be at UConn or he'd be at a hospital. Everyone also seemed to forget about Dori Arad. All of his goals this year were game winners. Kacey Richards won several awards, and is noticed in the women's soccer world, but isn't well known to the average UConn fan. Thats why she is underrated to me. Maybe under-noticed would have been more applicable for her.
