MBB (Stony Brook)

My favorite Men's basketball players are Jeff Adrien, Craig Austrie and Hasheem Thabeet.

I love Adrien's emotion and tenacity on the floor.
I love Austrie's calmness and reliability on the floor. I think he is the smartest player on the team.
I love how much Hasheem has improved since freshman year. He is finally dunking the ball. He also has really improved from the free throw line. He should trash talk with Tyler Hansbrough.

I thought UConn played really well against Stony Brook (Well thats obvious when you look at the score) I thought they played very well for just coming off of break. They look much improved from last year. Better passing and better shots are being taken. The extra passes in the post that lead to lay-ups and dunks were fun too watch.

I think that Jerome Dyson has matured as a player. He's getting out of my dog house. I think that his decision making has improved.

Stanley Robinson needs to improve his decision making. That cross court pass before his alley-oop dunk was horrible. It turned out well but I think thats a steal and dunk against a more athletic Big East team. I do think that Sticks will bring something to the defensive end though. I think that's where UConn needs him most.

A.J. Price got better as the game got on. I just want him to be confident with his knee. If A.J. gets back to where he was last year, UConn really should be able to compete with UNC.

Kemba Walker showed flashes of greatness. I thought he was great in the first half. I love how he pushes the ball down the court quickly and can then kick it out to other guys for open looks.

Overall, this being the first men's game I've been able to really sit down and watch, (missed the "horrible" Buffalo game) I feel like they have improved their decision making and unselfishness. I also believe that they have a lot more depth than last year. They just need to concentrate and figure out how to put teams away. Too often they play to the level of their opponents and don't close out games.

Player of the game: I think there are several that deserve it, but I'd give it to Jeff Adrien.
