First day home..some sports stuff too

I'm so glad that it is 61 out. It would be great for working out in if it wasn't going to rain. 61 in December is a gift from god.

If I ever have a child who plays soccer I am going to tell them to Bend it like Bildstein. Wait a minute, I have an even better idea, why not tell the kids at Husky Sport that too.

I love my dog but in the morning he's like having a rooster. Whenever my mom and sister leave for school (my mom teaches kindergarten) he howls really loudly and always wakes me up.

Of course I am really happy that my Mets signed K-Rod. I have suffered through the likes of Mel Rojas, Armando Benitez and Aaron Heilman for too long. Plus the Mets have a closer that can perform in postseason? How can that be?

It's funny, I can't remember the last time that my two AL teams (I never root for them over the Mets) the Twins and Rays, made any sort of big splash acquiring someone really good.

I miss the Montreal Expos. They were the greatest farm club ever. Larry Walker, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Vladimir Guerrero. As a matter of fact when you see that you can't help but notice that the Expos had Pedro and Randy Johnson, two of the five most dominant pitchers of their era. They also had one darn good mascot, Y0uppi. The NL East has the best mascots of any division in baseball. Mr. Met, Billy the Marlin, and the Philly Phanactic (even without Youppi) strike fear into the rest of the divisions in baseball.

Who here remembers Pepper Johnson, Tom Tupa, Bryan Cox, Filip Filipovic, Jay Novacek, Philippi Sparks, Chris Calloway or Jumbo Elliot?
